Exclusive Interview with Lil Nico

SMASH Magazine: What made you decide to pursue a career in music?

Lil Nico: Honestly just watching other artists perform and putting smiles on people's faces via the music they put out influenced me to develop a passion for music.

SMASH Magazine: What kind of artist/singer would you classify yourself as?

Lil Nico: I would classify myself as an Hip/Hop & R&B Artist but I love working with other genres as well.

SMASH Magazine: What do you feel is the best song you’ve ever released? Why?

Lil Nico: If we're talking numbers wise Ima go with my latest release " Do Better" Which currently has the most streams but in my opinion my favorite song Is " Like You ", You can find it on all platforms on my Album " Looking 4 A Way Out".

SMASH Magazine: What set your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?

Lil Nico: I think my voice and ability to come up with things on the spot with music keeps me very productive and keeps me intrigued to keep learning.

SMASH Magazine: What story behind the song "Do Better”?

Lil Nico: There's not necessarily a story behind it; I was just in the studio and heard a beat I liked & killed it.

SMASH Magazine: How does this song "title of the song" differ with your previous song?

Lil Nico: It differs because It's like a national message; Everyone can "Do Better '' It's just a matter of doing it.

SMASH Magazine: How will you describe your music to people?

Lil Nico: I would describe my music as some of the best music in the new generation.

SMASH Magazine: Has your music career journey had a deliberately direction or did it simply gradually evolve in whatever direction it found?

Lil Nico: It always was a slow & steady race with my work but it eventually gradually started to lay its mark.

SMASH Magazine: What is your advice for upcoming artists or songwriters wanting to follow your footsteps?

Lil Nico: I would say just keep striving for more, don't limit yourself to a stopping point, Never listen to the hate & never give up, work hard and time will tell.
