5 Reasons We Think Kendrick Lamar Will Drop Another Album Before His Super Bowl Performance
December 05, 2024
K. Dot is set to hit the Super Bowl Halftime stage February 2025.
Kendrick Lamar is flying high off of the release of his latest album, surprise drop GNX, as the highly-anticipated body of work has already produced several hits.
His latest single, “squabble up,” scurried its way up the charts upon the music video‘s release, followed by the success of “tv off,” “luther,” “wacced out murals,” and “hey now,” which all found themselves in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 5.
While fans appreciate getting the new album many thought wouldn’t arrive until 2025, others believe that it’s just the beginning of a new era for the lyricist. Those close to the artist have also been dropping hints that the wordsmith has more in the tuck that fans can expect sooner rather than later, even ahead of his much discussed 2025 Super Bowl Halftime performance.
Check out these five reasons we believe Kendrick Lamar will likely bless us with another project before the big game.

The most obvious clue that Dot will likely release a new body of work soon is the fact that the “GNX” Youtube teaser which dropped just minutes before the album isn’t actually on the project. Fans believe they’ll be able to find the track on his next record, doubting he would wait until after the February 2025 Super Bowl match-up to release the official tune.

DJ Hed, who is close to Kendrick and the TDE camp, dropped an eyes emoji under Hip-Hop personality LowKey’s summation that GNX is just an “appetizer.”

DJ Hed also hinted at more music coming soon during a chat with Kendrick’s Black Hippy brother, Ab-Soul. During the livestream, the podcaster shared, “The homie ain’t done, and this is what ni**as is on right now.” Ab-Soul also began to spill the beans, but stopped himself before giving listeners a definitive answer. “Job’s not finished”

Deats, the producer behind GNX track “gloria,” shared the above screenshot of Kobe Bryant shortly after the album’s release. The snap stems from a Lakers press conference after Game 2 of the 2009 NBA Finals, where Kobe insisted there was nothing to smile about because “the job’s not finished,” despite the Lakers leading the series 2-0. Could this indicate that the “job’s not finished” for Kendrick, as well?
The Heart Series

One of the biggest hints that Kendrick will likely drop another album sooner rather than later is his inclusion of “heart pt. 6” on GNX, as songs featured in his “The Heart” series have always dropped ahead of a new release. While it’s possible that he’ll switch things up, there’s nothing thus far that indicates he’ll break that tradition.
Only time will tell if we called it right, but we’re willing to bet the Compton King will be blessing us with a new album before he hits that New Orleans stage for Super Bowl 2025.
