INTERVIEW
He not only has that husky, soulful tone to his voice but also has an image which is increasing hisfemale following by the minute.
Starting off with my first impression of RnB singer Dele, I'd have to say he is the UK's answer to Trey Songz! He not only has that husky, soulful tone to his voice but also has an image which is increasing hisfemale following by the minute.
Dele first discovered his talent at a the tender age of eight, when he sang in front of his family who realised he had a voice that needed to be heard. Since then he has worked incredibly hard, touring in the US, opening for his inspirations Boyz II Men at their recent gig and penning his new EP 'Portraits of Me'.
Hailing from East London himself, we met him last week at Shoreditch Grind recording studio to discover more about the talented singer/songwriter and find out what he has in the pipeline for the year ahead.
Having listened to the new EP myself, its themes are love, relationships and sex but also has tracks based on his Nigerian heritage. His sensual style draws you into each track and I could happily listen to it all day.
Make sure you listen to the tracks 'F U Right', 'Karma' featuring fellow RnB singer Darren B and 'One Knee' which Dele has just released the video for. The track 'Omo Diaspora‘ where Dele sings in Yoruba and English over a Funky House track blended with an Afrobeat is also a must listen.
If that wasn't enough he also has his own clothing label called HAHA! available online!
Portraits of Me is out now and you can listen to snippets of the seven tracks here: http://www.delemusic.com/music-2
