L7 Announce Tour Without Bassist Jennifer Finch

Jennifer Finch will miss the autumn leg of L7's Last Hurrah farewell tour after being diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer.

The band's founding bassist is currently receiving treatment following the diagnosis.

L7 vocalist and guitarist Donita Sparks shared the news in a statement yesterday, saying, "We are all devastated by the news and are surrounding her with love, protecting her privacy and dignity, while helping raise the resources she urgently needs for the care ahead. Jennifer is family, and we want her to feel the full strength of the community that has loved and supported her for so many years."

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist Finch with the cost of in home nursing care, physical and speech therapy, medical equipment, and other essential expenses.

Despite Finch's absence, the band will continue with its North American farewell tour after receiving her full support.

The 22 date tour begins on 9 October in Phoenix before concluding with a final show in Los Angeles on 14 November.

L7, the all female American rock group celebrated for combining punk, metal, and grunge, features Finch, Sparks, Suzi Gardner, and drummer Dee Plakas.

Their best known song, Pretend We're Dead, went on to become one of the defining anthems of alternative rock.

Following an indefinite hiatus that began in 2001, the original members reunited in 2014 and have continued performing together ever since. Their most recent UK tour took place in June 2024.
