Jade Latrice Welcomes Us On Her Journey Of Vulnerability Through New Singles

Jade Latrice proves that maturity cannot be measured in age. At just 17 years old, she is a powerhouse of confidence and expression. Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Jade Latrice demonstrates grace as she balances school, volleyball, and a blossoming music career. Influenced by artists such as H.E.R., Summer Walker, Lauryn Hill, and Brandy, Jade Latrice is bringing her own sound to the charts while collaborating with Grammy Award-nominated producer TryBishop and Christopher Starr of CSP Music Group.

With a robust, emotive voice, Jade Latrice exudes maturity years beyond her tender age. Her two recent singles, “Make It Home” and “I Like It,” demonstrate thoughtful lyrical expression and flawless execution. “I Like It,” a duet with Judah Watkins, is playfully upbeat, a back-and-forth exchange of energy between the two artists. On the other end of the spectrum – demonstrating Jade Latrice’s flexibility in sound – “Make It Home” is a deep, sentimental ballad with a steady beat and slow build up.

“I have to feel the beat. If it doesn’t vibe with me, I keep looking,” says Jade Latrice of her process. “When I write, it’s not a song yet – it’s thoughts or me journaling.” The artist’s intuitive writing comes from a place of connecting with her vulnerability. “I’ve been learning to be more vulnerable and open up. A lot of people deal with anxiety – I’m learning to deal with my anxiety and nervousness.”

Jade Latrice is unapologetically herself, and that is no easy feat as a teenager delicately balancing an ordinary adolescent life with a flourishing career in the spotlight. “I’m proud of myself for overcoming other people’s opinions and knowing my own worth.”

With a new single under her belt and more on the way, Jade Latrice has more than enough accomplishments to be proud of herself, and yet, it’s the way she has tackled self-doubt that she is proudest of. “I’m proudest of overcoming my fears of singing in front of other people. I was a shower singer. Now, I like to talk to myself before singing. Take a couple of deep breaths. Once I’m singing and into it, I’m fine – it’s just beforehand.” While most of us will forever be shower singers, Jade Latrice graces us with her smooth vocals and powerful lyrics.

Jade Latrice’s track that she’s currently working on, “I Choose Me,” tells the story of losing friends but gaining self-confidence by sticking up for herself. It’s a bittersweet tale we can all relate to about learning when enough is enough and putting ourselves first. It’s safe to say that Jade Latrice is wise beyond her years in both the topics she discusses and the way in which she communicates them.

2022 is already looking bright for the artist, who will be releasing her newest single, “Somebody to Somebody,” next month. She also looks forward to live performances in the new year. Most of all, Jade Latrice is grateful for how far she has come and those who have supported her along the way. “Thank you to my fans and for keeping up with my journey.”
