Emerging artist Zulcan, an electronic music producer, delivers the energetic new single “Silver and Gold.” The fresh track further establishes Zulcan as a young producer to watch over the next year.
Hailing from Bangladesh—a country in South Asia—Zulcan brings a global perspective to his craft. He finds inspiration in many influences, including favorite artists Kanye West and Fred Again, among others. “Most of the time, it’s just the music that I’m listening to most at any given time,” shares Zulcan of what inspires his sound.
What began as a hobby has emerged into a steadfast passion. The producer began dabbling with Garage Band and made his way to more intricate software over time. Now, he pours his time, energy, and passion into creating songs and experimenting with sound.
His beat making process is habitually an anti-process; sometimes he has a full sound in mind, other times he lets the song create itself through experimentation.
The latter is true of his latest single, “Silver and Gold,” which was born through play. “I was able to come up with the song by experimenting with different sounds and effects,” tells the musician. While visiting family in Bangladesh, the concept of the song emerged effortlessly.
“My last single (‘In the skies’) has a very different feeling and energy to it than ‘Silver and Gold.’ It’s a lot chiller, calmer, and slower paced, whereas ‘Silver and Gold’ is more happy and energetic and also more of a dance track,” adds the producer.
Free from expectation, Zulcan invites listeners to derive their own meaning and emotion from his song. His hope is that listeners can find their own interpretation and connection to his work.
Fortunately, Zulcan is in the midst of finalizing his upcoming EP, which will gift listeners with six tracks, one of which overlaps with his album, also in progress.
