Rod Stewart and Kevin Bacon have led the tributes following the death of music icon Bonnie Tyler.
On Thursday, a spokesperson confirmed that the Welsh singer, whose birth name was Gaynor Hopkins, had passed away at the age of 75.
Earlier this year, in May, Tyler underwent emergency surgery in Faro, Portugal, after suffering a perforated intestine and was later placed into an induced coma.
After news of her passing was announced, Stewart shared an emotional message on Instagram as he remembered his longtime friend.
"We shared similar styles of vocalizing. She was a good pal, a true soul stirrer. I sing (1977 song) It's A Heartache every night on tour. I'll miss you, darling Bonnie," he wrote.
Kevin Bacon also honored the late star during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, calling her "one of the greatest voices of rock."
"I could not imagine chicken racing a tractor to any other song. RIP," he said, referring to Holding Out for a Hero, which famously features in a memorable scene from his 1984 film, Footloose.
Johnny Knoxville also paid tribute, thanking Tyler for allowing Holding Out for a Hero to be featured over the opening credits of his latest film, Jackass: Best and Last.
"Bonnie Tyler, thanks for letting ur music be a part of Jackass. RIP," he commented via Instagram Stories.
Elsewhere, David Guetta reflected on working with Tyler and producer HYPATON on the 2025 single Together, which incorporates the chorus of her 1983 classic Total Eclipse of the Heart.
"Your music and spirit will live on forever. Together will always mean a little more now. Grateful we got to share this song with you and @hypaton. Rest in peace @bonnietylerofficial," the DJ stated.
Jamie Lee Curtis also looked back on the role Total Eclipse of the Heart played in her 2024 film, The Last Showgirl, where her character, Annette, dances to the song.
"Bonnie Tyler's interpretation of that song, of the longing and loss and tragedy of love was the perfect anthem both for the world at large, but very much for Annette and I am thrilled with the way it was used in the movie and I was sad to wake up and hear about her passing today," she added.
Tyler is survived by her husband, Robert Sullivan.
