Rod Stewart postponed his Tuesday concert only a few hours before he was scheduled to perform.
The British music icon had to cancel his show in Niagara Falls, Canada, after a mechanical problem prevented his aircraft from taking off. The postponement follows another concert cancellation several weeks earlier because of illness.
Rod, 81, announced the update through his Instagram Stories and explained that an issue with the aircraft meant the performance could not go ahead.
“An important update regarding this evening’s concert,” the message began. “Unfortunately, a mechanical problem affecting the aircraft’s landing gear has prevented Rod Stewart from travelling to Niagara Falls, meaning tonight’s show at Fallsview Casino Resort must be postponed.”
The statement continued: “Rod is extremely disappointed and offers his sincere apologies to everyone affected.”
The concert has now been moved to 4 March 2027, with all existing tickets remaining valid for the replacement date.
“He is eager to return for the new performance on Thursday, March 4, 2027, and promises to give his fans an unforgettable show,” the announcement added.
The performance was scheduled as part of the I Don't Want to Talk About It singer’s final major worldwide arena tour, One Last Time.
The sudden postponement follows Rod’s decision to cancel a June concert at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista. Doctors advised him not to perform after he developed an acute upper respiratory infection that led to laryngitis.
However, the singer and songwriter later received criticism when he was photographed attending a World Cup match only hours afterwards.
The Maggie May rocker later admitted on talkSPORT that going to the match had been a mistake, although he explained that he did not want to disappoint two of his sons.
“I understand that it did not create a good impression, but I will simply have to accept the criticism,” he said.
Rod also called off two performances in May while he recovered from a sinus infection.
