Bebe Rexha has recalled how Taylor Swift reached out to help her when she was having trouble finding a dress for the 2019 Grammys.
The Meant to Be singer said Taylor’s gesture caught her by surprise.
Speaking to E! News on the red carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Bebe, 37, explained that designers had been reluctant to dress her because she was a plus size artist.
“I couldn't find a dress,” she said.
Taylor heard about the problem and contacted Bebe to see if she could help.
“She had reached out to me because we're the same age,” Bebe explained, “and I thought that was really, really, really kind of her.”
The I’m a Mess singer said the message meant even more because it came from someone as prominent as Taylor, 36.
“Nobody really reached out,” Bebe recalled. “Like, some people did, but for her, at such a high level, to make me feel like I belong was really, really nice.”
Bebe also shared memories of Dolly Parton, who died on 25 August at age 80 following a brief battle with cancer.
“She is the baddest b***h,” Bebe said of Dolly, with whom she recorded the 2023 song Seasons. “Her corset was tighter than mine. Her heels were insane, and then I looked at my outfit, and I was like, 'I feel like I'm not doing enough.' She had her hair so high.”
Meeting Dolly had lived up to everything Bebe had hoped for.
“She was like the most energetic, kind, chill,” she said. “I loved it because sometimes when you meet your idols, they kind of let you down. I've been in situations like that, but with her, she was amazing.”
